2018 NYFW Celebrity Sightings
NYFW 2018 was a fun filled adventure with scattered celebrity sightings that added even more fun to the mix.
Our first night in NYC we attended Jack Rogers, Sail to Sable, Monogram Mary Event for the Scarlett Fund.
Friday morning we made a quick stop to see Amir Taghi at Baccarat Crystal Ballroom. His sheer fabrics with stunning textures were stunningly accented b the incredible crystal chandeliers in the salon.
We were thrilled to co host the Vintage Contessa & Times Past vintage Watch collaboration with the Webster, Nash Yacoub of Succarra and Jennifer James, Founder of the Scarlett Fund at Memorial Sloan Kettering.
I was able to catch up and chat with Laure Heriard Dubreuil, French entrepreneur and the Founder and CEO of The Webster, the amazing luxurious fashion boutique based in Miami, with locations in Houston, Soho and Costa Mesa.
A portion of all proceeds were donated to the Scarlett Fund at Memorial Sloan Kettering to Fund pediatric cancer research.
Mid afternoon we attended CUSHNIE, which refreshingly showcased several full size women with real figures.
While waiting in line, we talked to Ken Downing, the Senior Vice President and Fashion Director for Neiman Marcus. In the audience, with her picture perfect smile was Christie Brinkley and her equally beautiful blonde daughter, Sailor Brinkley-Cooke.
My favorite place for lunch in NYC is BG Restaurant or Fred’s at Barneys. We opted for Bergdorfs on Saturday. Caitlyn Jenner was seated at the table next to us. No one walked up to the table to speak to her, but EVERYONE noticed yet tried to be nonchalant.
We continued the afternoon with afternoon shopping in the shoe department of Bergdorf Goodman followed with a trip to Shultz on Madison Ave. It was there we connected with internationally known blogger I am Hearte, aka Heart Evangalista of the Phillipines.
I still love the old Sex And the City episodes. In fact, I cant help but think of Carrie and the girls every time Im in NYC. This trip we embraced the series with a trip to Buddakan to celebrate my dear friend, Katherine Le’s birthday . Our dinner was more fun than Carries outing with the girls, from the photos, I think we could rival the movie Crazy Rich Asians.
While attending a Burberry Event in Soho we learned about the new direction of the brand with new designer Riccardo Tisci. He is embracing the heritage of the brand by creating a logo yet still retaining the classic plaid that everyone associates with their brand.
We attended Houston fashion designers, Cesar Galindo and Toni Whitaker show. We were so proud to see the amazing Houston designers work while in NYC. You can read more about the fashion presentations at Paper City’s article by Clifford Pugh.
We hosted our Styling Social Justice podcast 3 with Jennifer James, 9/11 survivor turned philanthropist, pediatric cancer advocate, and founder of @theScarlettfund. Her story of perseverance and tenacity are apparent in her efforts to raise awareness and funds for pediatric cancer with the NYC marathon, Kids Walk, Cycle for Survival and charity fundraising with fashion brands.

At Veronica Beard presentation, I was thrilled to meet the designer herself. Ironically, both of the designers are named Veronica and both married a Beard brother.

One of the highlights of the trip was a stop by Edie Parker’s Presentation in the coolest hip deco space. It was so fun to reconnected with Tina Craig, the Bag Snob and Nicky Hilton Rothschild.

Tuesday – September 11
September 11th was an incredible day filled with celebrity sightings. I attended the special event, called Charity Day, hosted each year by BGC Partners, Inc., an affiliate of Cantor Fitzgerald and GFI Group. Dozens of actors, musicians, sports personalities and other distinguished guests donated their time on September 11th to honor the memories of those who lost their lives on 9/11 by raising more than $12 million for charities around the world.
Former President Bill Clinton who took the time to stop and chat with Jennifer and Scarlett about Pediatric Cancer Research.
We met Tony Richardson, former NY Jet and Dallas Cowboy who was supporting women who are victims of sexual abuse and sex trafficking.
Run DMC was hilarious. I walked up to him and said, “Hi, Im DCC.” He said, “What does that stand for?” I said, “It stands for Donae Cangelosi Chramosta but my friends call me Contessa.” He said, “ I like that.” Then later when I walked past him he gave a shout out, “Hey Contessa.” He was adorable.
I also had a brief moment chatting with Spotlight actor, Billy Crudup. As a Catholic, I was afraid to watch it but after doing so, I believe it is a movie every Catholic and non Catholic should watch due to the severity of the impact in our communities.
