The Stablewood home and backyard of interior design doyenne Lucinda Loya and her husband Javier, a co-owner of the Houston Texans football team, looks like an impeccably posh and memorably modern Los Angeles hotel. So it was the perfect setting to celebrate the premiere issue of Houston’s new design-savvy sister publication, Modern Luxury Interiors Texas. Editor Connie Dufner and Publisher Blake Stephenson flew in for the launch, and Associate Publisher Jennifer Cope of Houston introduced the pair to the who’s-who of Houston art and design. Guests, donning bright summer frocks that popped against the Loya’s white-washed manse, spilled from the great room into the outdoor living area, enjoying flutes of bubbly poolside, and mini treats like lemon bars and cute cupcakes from Stone Kitchen. Spotted in the crowd: Eduardo Cosentino and Patty Dominguez of Cosentino surfacing company, Kitchen & Bath Concepts’ Peggy McGowen, gallery owner Wade Wilson and pretty artist Saba Jawda.
