Pretty in Pink… Channeling Elle Woods

Pink is my favorite color… so Pretty in Pink was a natural choice for a blog post.

Styling this week’s Pretty in Pink, street style blog with TEXTURE, JUXTAPOSITION, BLING, POP OF COLOR & A FAB BAG was another fabulous moment channeling one of my favorite movie heroines, Elle Woods, played by Reese Witherspoon in the 2001 hit comedy, Legally Blonde.

TEXTURE was in the form of a shocking pink fur wrap found online at Charlotte Simone.

I follow The Coveteur, a really great online magazine site that features fashion, beauty, and health and began noting Charlotte Simon’s style when she was featured last year. She is a college student who started her own accessories line in London. 

I often embrace the JUXTAPOSITION of wearing spring tones in the form of fall/winter style. 

The shocking pink coat is so whimsical, ladylike, playful yet sophisticated.

However, most people don’t think of pink as a fall/winter color.

A lIttle BLING is definitely Elle Wood’s style.

The late 90’s Rolex Beach Series pink sapphire and diamond Daytona, with pink lizard strap, is the perfect accessory for this outfit.

With so much bling on my wrist, the added touch of the limited edition Van Cleef & Arpels Alhambra Necklace, with Contessa nameplate necklace, were in balance with the oversized, vintage Chanel Earrings and Chanel Cuff.

The POP OF COLOR is PINK, obviously.

As Audrey Hepburn said, “I believe in pink.”

Last year I made the significant commitment to pink by finally including it in my outerwear collection.

It’s one thing to wear a pink dress, it’s an entirely more significant commitment to wear it as a coat on a trip for days.
