Cancer. Fear. Hope. The Scarlett Fund.
“A child battling an illness is truly one of the saddest things that can happen. To witness this personally, when the child is someone you have known, is heart-breaking. Scarlett James, age 7, someone I have known for year, is battling cancer today. She was diagnosed with Lymphoma last year and have since battled her disease everyday in the bravest way possible. What astounds me is her ability to smile everyday and live life to the fullest. Her mother Jen, who is a dear friend and a rock in every sense of the word, has been incredible with her every step of the way.

“The Scarlett Fund was established to help fund cancer research, and to help many children like Scarlett grow up to be the amazing people they are meant to be. I would to invite you to join Scarlett and her family this coming Saturday in Kirna Zabete, to celebrate life.”
— Wandy Yeap Hoh, Co-Founder, CEO
“Our friends at Kirna Zabete are hosting a ‘Mother and Daughter Tea’ on Saturday May 17th, 11am – 2pm, where Scarlett is featured in a book “The Vintage Contessa & Princessa”, by Donae Cangelosi Chramosta. There will be a reading by the author as well as a photo booth and face painting for the children. In addition to that, Citibabes will hold “The Vintage Contessa & Princessa” book readingevent on Sunday May 19th at 1.30pm, all in support of The Scarlett Fund.
“Scarlett has been feeling really well. We see a lot more smiles and hear a lot more laughter. She even went to ‘pick up’ today to say hello to her special friends in the first grade and to receive a lollipop from Mr. Scales. We can’t thank you all enough for your unwavering show of support and love for Scarlett as well as for our family. Scarlett does have a full week of treatment ahead but we are optimistic that she will be there Saturday the 17th to greet you at the front door! Siblings, friends, other classmates and boys are all welcome! Just RSVP to RSVP@thevintagecontessa.com.”
