Ride into Spring with Audrey, Grace and Brigitte
Spring is in the air, temperatures are dropping, people are becoming more active. With our active lifestyles it’s easy to fall in the fashion rut of wearing athletic wear as daywear. I personally try to avoid it.
Years ago bike riding was once perceived as something a woman with style and beauty would never do. In fact, Roslyn Dee, columnist, Irish Daily Mail, February 2nd 2008 commented, “Ever see Audrey Hepburn on a bicycle? No, me neither. Catherine Deneuve? Nope. The very notion of either of them, surely two of the most elegant women the world has ever known, getting into the gear and clambering on board a bike is a full-frontal assault on beauty.”
The statement is laughable, as you can see. Each of them embraced their femininity and their playfulness.
I love the element of surprise and juxtaposition both in fashion and in life. The Juxtaposition of riding a bike in a dress is a bit unexpected and whimsical.
